Ok, so, i've been doing quite a lot of knife making since my last posts... havent had a camera to take pictures of them, but i'm pleased with the overall quality of my work. So... i'm now taking orders for custom blades! I currently have access to 2 types of steel, 5160 high carbon, which is an excellent all round steel, and preferable for heavier blades designed for chopping, but also makes good smaller blades. I also have limited stock of L6 steel, which is also a high carbon steel, which makes very nice bushcraft blades, thinner blades and kitchen/light utility blades. I may also have some 1095 knocking about, but i'm not sure. I can make

bugger/woo!

well, first for the "bugger" bit. we werent sure about one of the timbers we used for the longbow i was building, tasmainan oak/victorian ash (same damn thing). alas, it has no compressive strength, and we got a compression fracture in one of the limbs. we saved the boo though, and we have another stave glued up and waiting for shaping, with a bamboo back, the bulk of the bow made from merbau, and a handle from jarrah :) hopefully this one works out better than the last! i now have a decent handle on the working techniques that go into making a bow like this, so i should be able to proceed faster. and the WOO! i sat exams a while back for en

No worries mate! I really like the handle. I've made a few little kiridashi style blades, but never thought to do a twist handle. Watch this space, i will probably knock one out in the same sort of style at some point i reckon, would make a nice little EDC :)
